Canterbury Volleyball Brings Home the Golden Ball For Immediate Release Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Canterbury School volleyball program is continuing to build momentum, and the 2026 season is already off to a memorable start. Canterbury captured the 2026 Golden Ball at the annual tri-match featuring Canterbury, Fremont and Lakewood Park Christian School. The Golden Ball is awarded to the top-performing team at the annual competition, which has been a tradition since 2018. The Cavaliers and Fremont each dropped a three-set match during the tri-match, creating a unique tiebreak scenario. Canterbury ultimately claimed the Golden Ball by recording the fewest sets played and allowing the fewest points against them throughout the competition. With the victory, Canterbury became the 2026 Golden Ball champion, earning the opportunity to add its name to the coveted panels of the trophy for the first time in the ball’s history. The achievement adds another chapter to what has become an exciting stretch for Canterbury Volleyball. In 2025, the Cavaliers earned a regional bid and captured their first sectional championship in 20 years, marking a significant milestone for the program. That success appears to be carrying into the new season. For a program that has spent the past year establishing new benchmarks, the early results are encouraging. More importantly, they reflect the continued growth, confidence and competitiveness of Canterbury Volleyball. The 2026 season is young, but the Cavaliers have already made one thing clear: the momentum is real, and Canterbury Volleyball is ready to keep building.
